Who commissioned us?
The Brandenburg State Office for Social Affairs and Care (LASV for short) is a subordinate authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Integration and Consumer Protection that provides services to ensure an appropriate quality of life for people with disabilities and people in need of care in education, work, leisure and housing.
What was the status quo?
Using the "Brandenburg Social Indicators" developed by the LASV, politicians and the specialist public are regularly and systematically informed about social structures and processes. The set of indicators has so far been published both in print and digitally as a PDF and Excel spreadsheet.
What goals did we have in mind?
Digitization: Web-based presentation of Brandenburg's social indicators
Handling: Standardization and simplification of data delivery processing
Security: Creation of persistent data storage
Usability: Modern, flexible presentation of the social indicators, taking into account UX principles and accessibility
Automation: Integration of the web application into the processes for creating the printed version of the social indicators
This is how we solved it!
After a comprehensive requirements and process analysis, the FIDA development DAISIE was defined as the basis for a flexible software system. Through the exclusive use of carefully coordinated open source components, the all-in-one BI system offers the greatest possible development flexibility without license costs.
