Tobias Venn

Head of Data Science

Tobias Venn combines in-depth knowledge in data science and economics with practical teaching experience. His academic background includes a Master of Science in information-oriented business administration with a focus on statistics, making him an expert in quantitative methods and data analysis.

Already during his studies, he showed his talent in imparting knowledge by working as a lecturer in statistics. In addition, he supported his fellow students as a tutor in the subjects Personal Finance and Financial Intermediation and Regulation, which underlines his ability to teach complex subjects in a clear and application-oriented way.

In his professional career, Tobias started as a Data Scientist at C&S Computer und Software GmbH and spent 2.5 years there before joining the FIDA team. At FIDA, he now uses his expertise in the role of Head of Data Science to help analyze large data sets and contribute to the development of innovative data-based products and services.

During his academic career, he has presented his research findings at numerous European conferences and published in internationally renowned journals. He has also trained economics students in statistical analysis and finance.

Patrick combines his academic experience with extensive knowledge of data science, machine learning and mathematical statistics in the languages R and Python. Since 2023, he has been contributing his expertise to FIDA in various projects in the field of Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models.

Holger Fähnrich

Head of Application Development & Software Architecture

Holger Fähnrich combines many years of practical experience in software development with in-depth expertise in the design and modeling of modern system architectures. As a graduate computer scientist (FH) with over 20 years of professional experience, he specializes in the development of scalable, secure and sustainable software solutions in complex corporate environments - particularly in the insurance and financial sectors.

In addition to his technical architecture work, he has extensive experience in knowledge transfer. Among other things, he has worked as a lecturer in developer training courses and accompanied teams through coaching, architecture workshops and agile transformation processes. His strength lies in preparing complex technical contexts in a structured way and communicating them to both developers and stakeholders in an understandable way.

His professional career began in the field of securities trading systems with a focus on interface development and messaging architectures. Since 2013, he has played a key role in architecture and development projects at Finanz-DATA GmbH, where he takes on leading roles - from technical project management to strategic architecture responsibility. In customer projects, he is responsible for the design of modern microservice architectures, API management, CI/CD pipelines and security concepts based on zero trust principles. He is currently working in the role of Lead Software Architect on integration and security architectures in the area of conflict between AWS cloud and on-premise infrastructures.
