A Century of Sports History in Gotha
The Volkspark Stadium in Gotha celebrated its 100th anniversary. The milestone was marked with a varied program for guests of all ages, looking back not only on the venue’s long history but also looking toward the future of sports.
Among other things, the event focused on the inauguration of new sports facilities as well as youth and recreational sports. This underscored the importance the Volkspark Stadium continues to hold today for sports and club life in Gotha. Former Bundesliga players provided a special highlight, enriching the anniversary celebrations with their athletic expertise and appearances.
Not even the weather could dampen the good mood. A brief rain shower was quickly replaced by sunshine, allowing the program to continue as planned. In addition to the athletic activities, food and drinks were provided, ensuring that visitors of all ages could enjoy a varied day at the Volkspark Stadium.
FIDA Supports the Anniversary Event
We are pleased to have supported the anniversary event as a sponsor. For FIDA, our connection to our region is an important part of our commitment. Events like the 100th anniversary of the Volkspark Stadium bring people together and create space for encounters, sports, and community.
Our colleagues Lisa Heß, Volker Kohl, and Dr. Simon Kroll were on site. Together, they represented FIDA at the event and were able to experience the anniversary day firsthand.
A century of sports history offers many reasons to look back. At the same time, the anniversary highlights how important it is to continue developing sports facilities and programs for youth and recreational sports in the years to come.
We would like to thank everyone who organized, supported, and helped shape the anniversary, and we are delighted to have been part of this special day.
