Python and Digital Humanities: Dr. Simon Kroll's successful training course

SCROLL

Dr. Simon Kroll, an accomplished data scientist at FIDA, conducted a Python training course at the prestigious University of Salamanca, which was very well received by participants from the "Patrimonio textual y humanidades digitales" course. The international audience benefited from Simon's extensive knowledge and experience, which he shared during the two-day workshop.

As an experienced Python user, Simon offered a sound insight into the basics of this versatile programming language. He expanded the basic knowledge by introducing Large Language Models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, which open up innovative perspectives in research.

The training offered attendees an exclusive opportunity to understand how LLMs work and the latest developments. Simon presented the Langchain framework and used practical examples to illustrate how the technology can be integrated into the research landscape.

The feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive and underlined the importance of Python and LLMs for modern research in the humanities. The training has been instrumental in promoting understanding of these technologies and expanding their potential applications in academia.

Simon remains active as an expert in Python training and the integration of LLMs into research and is keen to share his expertise with more educational and research institutions. Commitment to sharing expertise and supporting research projects remains a central aspect of his work.

Those interested in learning more about Python training or the application of Large Language Models in their own research area are invited to contact him with relevant inquiries. The exchange of knowledge and experience helps to continuously push the boundaries of Digital Humanities and advance research.
