The members of the Leipzig discussion group "Artificial Intelligence" of VERS Leipzig GmbH recently met at the Provinzial Group in Düsseldorf to hold intensive discussions on the current challenges and potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for the insurance industry.

A highlight of the meeting was the presentation by Chris Ehrling, Lead Data Scientist at FIDA, on the topic of "FIDA image forensics: Reliable identification of manipulated and AI-generated damage images". In view of new technical possibilities that enable even non-experts to manipulate or generate convincing damage images, insurance companies are faced with the challenge of efficiently identifying fraudulent damage images, especially in view of the increased cost pressure. FIDA image forensics offers a solution here by enabling a fully automated analysis of the images for their image forensic credibility, thus providing insurance companies with efficient decision-making support in fraud prevention.

The "Artificial Intelligence" discussion group in Leipzig once again proved to be a valuable platform for discussing use cases for the insurance industry and shedding light on both technical and regulatory issues.
