Working Together to Shape the Future of Digital Administration—FIDA at the 6th Thuringian E-Government Congress
How can the digital transformation in the public sector be successfully implemented? And what conditions are necessary to ensure that new technologies are not only introduced but also used effectively in day-to-day administrative work?
The 6th Thuringian E-Government Congress addressed these and other questions. Lisa Heß and Marcus Arlt attended the event on behalf of FIDA and used the occasion to discuss current developments, challenges, and prospects surrounding the digitization of public administration.
The focus was on digital skills and the question of how administrative staff can be prepared for and trained in digital transformation. This involved not only the safe and responsible use of new technologies but also the organizational and cultural changes that accompany digitization.
The program included topics such as artificial intelligence, open source, autonomous workplaces, IT security, and digital transformation processes. Questions regarding cultural change, responsibility, and the practical implementation of digital solutions in day-to-day administrative work were also addressed.
It is precisely the combination of technological possibilities and the necessary changes within organizations that makes digital transformation a long-term endeavor. In addition to suitable technologies, therefore, there is also a need for relevant knowledge, clear structures, and a willingness to further develop existing processes.
The conference provided an excellent platform for this, bringing together representatives from politics, government, and the field. For Lisa and Marcus, the event was a great opportunity to gain new perspectives, maintain existing contacts, and discuss current developments in digital government.
